Kids are the future, no doubt about it. The #SheCanSTEM campaign (https://shecanstem.com/) aims to empower young girls to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated fields. I decided to practice poster design to help the cause. With so many fields in STEM, though, how do we know which specialty to pick?
Ultimately, I decided to focus on one aspect of STEM which I have always been passionate about — space exploration. With the recent successful launch of NASA’s Artemis I mission, a project that I designed educational materials and illustrations for during an internship last year, it makes sense to share this space-focused poster for everyone to see!

I was definitely leaning toward a portrait orientation and some bold fonts, but there was a decision between close-up or full-body and between a variety of STEM fields or narrowing focus. The project landed somewhere in between with a torso shot of a young girl playing an astronaut. It turned out so cute!
